Two teams with contrasting fortunes met at Birdsall on Saturday, in a game that saw six goals. The 4-2 Temecula win means the Quails remain undefeated in preseason under John Oliver.
Temecula’s young midfielders ran riot going forward and City SC players had to get physical to slow them down. Edwin Sique Espinosa was electric on the left flank and bagged the first goal. A early 2nd half PK for City SC tied up the match 1-1. It didn’t take long for Noah Mabra to score one of the goals of the year with a half volley from 30 yards out. Great build up play down he right side ended with a wonderful cross that found the head of Joel Andres Preciado to make is 3-1 to the Quails. Joel Andres Preciado made it 3-1 to Temecula after clever play down the right side lead to a great headed goal. Francisco Martinez (Poncho) found the upper right corner with another goal of the year contender from 30 yards out. City SC scored a late goal to make it 4-2.
