Quails suffered a setback in their push for a playoff spot when they were held to a 2-2 draw away to City Of Angels in the National Premier Soccer League on Saturday, but there is still hope as results elsewhere in the NPSL leave the playoffs wide open for a hand full of teams.

Byron Rivera gave Temecula the lead with a crisp finish before going into halftime. The goal came against the run of play as City of Angels had much of the possession and a majority of the chances in the first half. City did draw level when they pulled a goal back early on in the second half and it looked as if they would go on to score more but the game settled down and there were few chances going into the final 5 minutes of the match. From a corner Tarek Nazzal was able to head the ball in from close range and give the Quails a late lead which looked to be the winner but only to see City once again draw level 1 minute later to earn themselves a deserved point.

With a FC Golden State loss to San Diego and Orange County FC draw at home to AS Los Angeles the Quails still remain in the hunt for a first ever playoff birth but only a win will do at home May 4th vs an in form Oxnard.
