Cosy Shelton Man of the Match. Cody in his first appearance for Temecula FC was a real handful for the Arizona defense all night and grabbed a great goal to cap off his night.

The Temecula Quails were left feeling as though 2 points were lost on a cold wet night in Temecula, CA. The Quails tied Arizona after a pair of second-half “mistakes” cost them two points in Saturday’s entertaining 2-2 draw.

The Quails were twice pegged back at Chaparral Stadium despite having a good amount of chances to take all 3 points. Tarek Nazzal started this season where you left off last season converting a 30 yard free-kick in the later stages of the first half, only for Arizona to bring the score level just minuets into the 2nd half.

At that point it looked as if Arizona would go on the get the winning goal but with 13 minutes left in the match Cody Shelton found himself in a good position behind the back of the Arizona defense and finished well to give Temecula the lead. Arizona did not drop their heads and 2 minutes later a long ball into the Temecula box was miss handled in the rain by the Quails goal keeper and Arizona tapped in from 8 yards out.

” I think overall the dressing-room post-game summed the game up. It was a well-fought game which both teams had to really battle for but I felt we looked stronger for the most part. To take the lead twice, with two excellent goals, and to concede two as a result of the conditions like we did, is just lady luck not shining on us on the night.

We’ll work hard in training this week and I know from the players they will be fired up for the game in Las Vegas next weekend.time that we can do it and we twice came back. I am very proud of this team.”~ Austin Levins
